Why placements will not get you there
The eight placement matches weigh more than regular games, but they cap at Oracle VI. Even an 8-0 run leaves Phantom to regular matches. That is why strong players pile up at the Oracle-Phantom border after placements hit the ceiling: opponents here are more even than at any rank below.
How many wins to Phantom
| From | Points to Phantom I | Net wins | Matches at 55% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7,000 | about 23 | about 235 | |
| 5,000 | about 17 | about 170 | |
| 3,000 | 10 | about 100 | |
| 2,000 | 6-7 | about 65 |
Points work the same as lower down: about 300 per match with the match-quality adjustment, and a streak adds 70 to 130 from the third win in a row. Once you cross into Phantom, the rank is protected from demotion for five matches.

What changes above Oracle
- Lane mistakes get punished at once: opponents give up waves less often and trade hard when your abilities are down.
- The map matters more than fights: teams turn a single kill into a guardian, the Urn or the Mid-Boss faster. Idle time without a goal costs more than before.
- Hero pools narrow: high ranks lean on heroes that are strong in the current patch - see the live top above.
- Solo queue gets harder: duo is only allowed with a neighbouring rank, so a steady partner at your level is a real edge.
Where you lose to your own rank
The free tracker compares your souls, damage and deaths with the average Oracle and shows how many players of your rank you beat.
How to prepare
- Keep two or three heroes whose win rate beats your rank average - the tracker shows it after 20-30 matches.
- Review losses from the recording, not from feelings: at Oracle, decisions lose games more than mechanics do.
- Find a regular duo partner of your own or a neighbouring rank.
- Play in blocks and stop after two losses in a row: about 600 points is nearly a third of the Oracle VI to Phantom step.
