Deadlock has 42 heroes. In the game data each one has a role - marksman, mystic, brawler or assassin - and a complexity from 1 to 4. Below: every hero by role and difficulty, and who wins most at low ranks right now.

How to pick your hero

  1. Pick a role by play style: shoot from range, play off abilities, start fights or hunt lone targets.
  2. Play a complexity-1 hero of that role for 15-20 matches to see if it fits.
  3. Add two more heroes: ranked needs three heroes with 15 wins each.
  4. After a month, keep the heroes where your win rate beats your rank's average.

How many heroes are in Deadlock?

As of October 16, 2026 - 42 playable heroes: 10 marksmen, 13 mystics, 10 brawlers and 9 assassins by the game data.

Who should a new Deadlock player pick?

A complexity-1 hero by the game data, such as Abrams, Haze, Infernus, Seven, Paige or Vindicta. Choose a role that fits your style and keep a pool of two or three.

Who is the hardest hero in Deadlock?

By the game data it is Sinclair, the only complexity-4 hero. Complexity 3 covers Paradox, Holliday, Mo & Krill, Shiv, Ivy, Yamato, Lash, Mina, Drifter, Billy, Rem and Rat King.
