Count net wins
A win gives about 300 points and a loss takes the same. Only the difference moves you: a 12-8 record is four net wins, about 1,200 points. A sub-rank takes 1,000 points, crossing into the next rank 2,000, a full rank 7,000.
| Goal | Points | Net wins |
|---|---|---|
| Sub-rank inside a rank | 1,000 | 3-4 |
| Crossing into the next rank | 2,000 | 6-7 |
| Full rank | 7,000 | about 23 |
| Two ranks | 14,000 | about 47 |
Matches at your win rate
You need as many matches as it takes to collect the net wins. Formula: matches = net wins / (2 x win rate - 1). At 55% every 100 matches give you 10 net wins, at 60% they give 20.
| Win rate | Net wins per 100 matches | Matches per sub-rank | Matches per rank |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50% | 0 | no climb | no climb |
| 52% | 4 | about 85 | about 585 |
| 55% | 10 | about 35 | about 235 |
| 60% | 20 | about 17 | about 117 |
| 65% | 30 | about 11 | about 78 |
| 70% | 40 | about 8 | about 58 |
Long climbs
| Route | Points | Net wins | Matches at 55% |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7,000 | about 23 | about 235 | |
| 42,000 | about 140 | about 1,400 | |
| 49,000 | about 163 | about 1,630 |
There is one shortcut per season - placements. The first eight matches weigh more than regular ones and can put you a rank higher straight away, but never above Oracle VI. After that only regular matches move you.
Run it for your account
The wins calculator in the tracker fills in your rank and 30-day win rate and counts the matches to your goal.
How to need fewer matches
- Lift your win rate by even a few points: going from 52 to 55% more than halves the matches per rank.
- Do not play tilted: two losses in a row cost about 600 points, more than half a sub-rank.
- Keep a short hero pool with win rates above your rank average.
- Duo with a regular partner of your own or a neighbouring rank.
