INSTALLATION & COMPATIBILITY

Download The files and follow the Installation Instructions below, or the Installation.txt included in the download. Install all three VPKs for the full model and sound replacement.

Prefer using a mod manager? Follow your manager's instructions and make sure it installs all three VPKs.

Mods changing Rat King's model or the same rat assets can conflict. His carried rats are part of his model, so Rat King skins might not work alongside this mod or may replace the personal rat minions.

Original Clanrat models, textures and Skaven audio from Creative Assembly's Total War: Warhammer II. Clan Mors texture overrides by Gigiauz. Full credits are listed below and included in the download.

MANUAL INSTALLATION

1. Close Deadlock and extract the downloaded zip.
2. In Steam, right-click Deadlock, then select Manage > Browse local files.
3. Back up game/citadel/gameinfo.gi.
4. Create game/citadel/addons/skaven_rats.
5. Open game/citadel/gameinfo.gi in a text editor. Inside SearchPaths, add the following line immediately before the existing Game citadel line:

   Game    citadel/addons/skaven_rats

   Keep the other search paths intact. Add this line only once, then save the file.
6. Copy Models/pak10_dir.vpk directly into game/citadel/addons/skaven_rats.
7. Copy Sounds/pak11_dir.vpk and Sounds/Reload/pak12_dir.vpk directly into that same folder.
8. Launch Deadlock through Steam.

The installed folder should contain:

game/citadel/addons/skaven_rats/
    pak10_dir.vpk
    pak11_dir.vpk
    pak12_dir.vpk

All three VPKs go directly inside skaven_rats.

MOD MANAGERS

You can use a mod manager if you prefer. Follow its own setup and import instructions, install all three VPKs and restart Deadlock. Let the manager handle file placement and configuration; you don't need to combine its setup with the manual steps above.

UPDATE OR REMOVE

To update, close Deadlock and replace this mod's three VPK files. If you installed with a manager, update or remove the mod through that manager.

To uninstall the whole mod, remove its pak10_dir.vpk, pak11_dir.vpk and pak12_dir.vpk.
