HeroRole

Role Labels adds a small, subtle role tag under every hero name on the TAB scoreboard, so you can see team composition at a glance.

It is styled to match the vanilla UI: same font as the hero name (VALVEPulp), same text shadow, small and low-opacity so it never distracts. Each role has its own soft color.

ROLES

- Carry (red): Infernus, Lady Geist, Mirage, Rat King, Seven, Venator, Victor, Warden, Wraith

- Off-Carry (orange): Apollo, Calico, Celeste, Deadman Danny, Grey Talon, Lash, Mina, Pocket, Vindicta, Violet, Vyper, Yamato

- Support (light blue): Doorman, Dynamo, Kelvin, Mo & Krill, Nurse Harrow, Paige, Rem, Sinclair, Solomon

- Initiator (light green): Bebop, Haze, Holliday, Paradox

- Tank (steel grey): Abrams, Baba, Billy, Shiv, Silver

- Hybrid (lilac): Drifter, Graves, Ivy, McGinnis, Viscous

Role assignments are my own opinion. Deadlock has no official roles, so feel free to disagree in the comments.

INSTALLATION

Easiest: install with Deadlock Mod Manager.

Manual:

1. Put the .vpk into Deadlock/game/citadel/addons/ (create the folder if it doesn't exist).

2. Rename it to a free pakXX_dir.vpk name, e.g. pak01_dir.vpk.

3. Make sure gameinfo.gi contains the line "Game citadel/addons" in SearchPaths, above "Game citadel".

COMPATIBILITY

- This mod replaces panorama/layout/citadel_hud_top_bar_player. Other mods that change the same scoreboard player card (e.g. some top bar / nickname mods) will conflict, and only one of them will work.

- After big Deadlock updates the mod may need an update. If the scoreboard looks broken after a patch, disable it until a new version is out.

- Works on Windows and Linux (Proton).

This is a visual UI mod only. It gives no gameplay advantage and only displays information about heroes that everyone can already see.
