Dream Critter - Rem Remodel

Rem is already the sleepiest hero in the game, so Rem gets a dreamier body. This mod swaps Rem's model for the Dream Critter, the anthro Bichi × Rikkor critter shared at Furality Somna, still dressed in Rem's pyjama gown and floppy nightcap. The critter's big fluffy tail runs down Rem's whole tail, so it still holds the candle.

Cosmetic only and client-side: abilities, hitboxes and gameplay are untouched, and only you see the new model.

Four versions

Pick one of the four downloads. They all replace the same hero, so only run one at a time.

 
• Orange (Dream_Critter_Rem_Orange.zip): the classic orange critter in Rem's pyjamas and nightcap, with warm golden sparkles on the gloat portrait.
 
• Blue (Dream_Critter_Rem_Blue.zip): the soft blue critter in Rem's pyjamas and nightcap, with Rem's teal dream glow on the gloat portrait.
 
• Orange, no clothes (Dream_Critter_Rem_Orange_NoClothes.zip): the plain orange critter with no gown or nightcap, with matching portraits.
 
• Blue, no clothes (Dream_Critter_Rem_Blue_NoClothes.zip): the plain blue critter with no gown or nightcap, with matching portraits.

Features

 
• Full model replacement for Rem, fitted to Rem's own skeleton, so all of Rem's animations work
 
• Clothed versions keep Rem's pyjama gown and nightcap, refitted around the critter's body, with the neck ruff sitting over the collar
 
• The fluffy critter tail follows Rem's full tail and still holds the candle
 
• The critter closes its eyes when Rem falls asleep
 
• Proper ragdoll on death (no melting into a puddle)
 
• Rem's animation sounds still play
 
• LODs included, small downloads (6 to 9 MB)

What's changed

 
• Model: Rem → Dream Critter
 
• Top-bar portraits: new normal, hurt and gloat portraits of the critter, posed like Rem's own cards and made to match each version (colour, and clothed or not)

Conflicts & notes

 
• Only run one Rem skin at a time. If two mods touch Rem, the one with the lower pak number wins.
 
• Already have a pak80? Rename this file to any free number (e.g. pak43_dir.vpk). Keep the _dir.vpk ending.
 
• All four versions are named pak80_dir.vpk; install only one. To switch, disable or delete the old one before enabling the new one.
 
• In the clothed versions the gown is Rem's non-simulated version, so it doesn't flap around like the original cloth.
