The core difference
| Piloted | Duo | |
|---|---|---|
| Who plays | The booster, on your account | You, together with the booster |
| Account access | QR login from the Steam app, no password | None |
| One Mystic sub-rank | $8 | $12 |
| Speed | The booster plays at their own pace | Depends on when you can play |
| Placements | Yes | No - placements cannot be queued as a group |
| Steam rules | Account sharing is banned by the Subscriber Agreement | Not affected - you play yourself |
Piloted: faster and cheaper
The booster logs into your account and plays. No password changes hands: they sign in with a QR code and you approve the login in the Steam app, so you need the Steam Guard mobile authenticator. The booster plays through a VPN in your region, set to appear offline, with no third-party software. Every match lands in your order on its own - result, K/D/A, rank points.
Duo: the account stays with you
You play yourself in one group with a high-rank booster. Since the July 30, 2026 patch the rank gap in a duo can be one rank at most, so the booster is matched to your current rank rather than being the strongest available. Two people carry each game, which is why Duo costs 50% more than Piloted.
Duo fits if you do not want to share your account in any form, or if you want to grow along with the rank: you watch a strong player up close and make your own calls in the match.
Which to pick
| Your situation | Mode |

| You want to learn, not just get the rank | Duo or a Duo evening |
| You want your mistakes reviewed without playing | Replay review or coaching |
