Deadlock invite

Deadlock is still a closed playtest, and you can't get in without an invite from a friend. Our bot becomes that friend and drops you an invite for free.

Why you need an invite

Valve still keeps Deadlock in a closed playtest. You can't buy it on Steam: you get it through an invite from someone who already has it.

You can only invite friends on your Steam list. That's why we use a bot: it adds you as a friend and sends the invite like any other player.

How it works

1. Sign in with Steam. That's how the bot knows who to invite. You type the password on Steam's site, we never see it.

2. Add the bot as a friend. One link and the bot is on your list. If every bot is busy, you join the queue and we ping you on the site.

3. The bot drops the invite. If Valve decides your friendship is too fresh, the bot waits and tries again on its own.

4. Accept it in Steam. The invitation lands in Steam. Hit Accept and Deadlock is in your library.

What you need

A Steam account that has spent at least $5: Valve doesn't invite limited accounts.

To accept the invitation in Steam when it arrives.

That's it. You don't pay us anything.

Questions & answers

FAQ

The short version: what, how long and why it's free.

Is it really free?

Yes. The invite costs nothing and doesn't commit you to anything.

How long does it take?

If a bot is free, the friend link shows up right away and the invite goes out as soon as the bot is on your friends list. Sometimes Valve asks to wait until the friendship matures: Valve doesn't say how long, and the bot retries on its own.

Why is there sometimes a queue?

Each bot has a limited number of invites, and Valve doesn't say how many. When they run out, new requests wait in the queue and we notify you when it's your turn.

Is it safe?

We never ask for your password: Steam sign-in happens on Steam's site. The bot only sees what any of your Steam friends sees.

It says my account is limited. What now?

Add $5 to your Steam wallet or buy any game. Then hit Check again in the bot chat, and it also checks again on its own later.
