When the Rejuvenator drops after the mid-boss dies, a voice counts you in: "Charge heavy melee in three, two, one", with a beep on "one". Press heavy melee on the beep and the hit lands as the crystal does.

What it changes

The crystal takes 6 seconds to drop and can't be hit until it lands. Heavy melee takes 0.36 s to wind up, so the beep goes off just early enough. The countdown plays over the normal drop music, which is still there underneath. It plays for both teams, so it works when the enemy takes the boss too.

Pick one

• go549: start here. Beeps slightly early to make up for ping.
• go564: exact timing with zero ping.
• go579: a bit later. Only try this if the other two are early for you.

Optional: gold crystal

A separate add-on that turns the crystal gold the moment it can be hit, so you can see when to hit as well. It works with any of the three versions above. Install it as its own pak, e.g. pak45.

Install

Mod Manager: add the zip and enable it (installing alone doesn't enable it).

Manual: close Deadlock, take pak01_dir.vpk out of the zip, rename it to pak44_dir.vpk (any free number works) and drop it in Deadlock\game\citadel\addons.

Heads up

• Conflicts with mods that change the Rejuvenator drop music.
• If the countdown is too quiet, check your music volume slider. It might affect it.
• Your ping changes the ideal timing, which is why there are three versions.
• Client-side only.

Made by WongBater. The countdown voice is AI text-to-speech (Higgsfield, voice "Arthur"). The ticks and beep are synthesised. Valve's drop music plays underneath. Deadlock belongs to Valve.
